putting Data to WOrk: Using Advanced Analysis to equip your organization

OVERVIEW
Our experience in advanced crime data analysis and unique insight into relational characteristics of various forms of violence, provide a unique opportunity to improve detection, reporting, and prevention of crime in your community. In addition to recognizing historic and current trends in crime, by identifying overlapping patterns of related crimes and recognizing where crime is statistically significantly more likely to continue to occur, communities can:
  1. Address specific characteristics of environments that make them conducive to crime to prevent future incidents
  2. Reduce risk of future injury/harm for civilians and first responders
  3. Ensure optimal usage of existing community resources
Hotspot incidence maps identify geographic concentrations of crime/violence over time. These maps allow for visualization of spatial distributions of reported incidents and are critical in developing a targeted approach for reducing crime and ensuring optimal allocation of existing resources.

Detailed descriptive statistics regarding incident characteristics, victim/suspect demographics, risks for first responders, risks for the surrounding community, risks for children, risks for animals, etc. are critical to keep your organization informed of current trends in crime/violence within your community. Equipped with this knowledge, local agencies are in a better position to get on the “front end” of any identified increases in violence and address specific characteristics of these incidents to develop more efficient and effective prevention, detection, and intervention initiatives.

Unique, community-specific crime maps developed from community-specific patterns in crime, identify highly specific regions of the community as “incident imminent”, “increased risk for officer harm/use of force”, “increased risk for children”, "increased risk for pets", etc. and can be drilled down to street-level for better visualization.

Community Crime Overview and Outlook Summary shows how your community’s current crime rates and incident characteristics compare with nationally reported data and predict community-specific crime rates both 5 and 10 years in the future.
Our mission is to make these critical data resources available to victim-serving agencies at minimal cost. Contact Andrew at: andrew@campbellresearchandconsulting.com for more information.
